I would just like to take a moment to mention that Doug Badgerow passed away on May 27 from a heart attack. Those that knew Doug personally know he battled health problems for several years. His passion for supplying used parts was probalby the main driving force for dealing with his illness. For those of you who did not know him, Doug was a Riviera guy in Phoenix, AZ. He hooked up with the guys at Riviera Junction and was hard pressed to recycle as many parts for the Rivs as possible as the whole yard was threatened by the crusher. I was an aquaintance of Doug's and he stopped by my house a few days before his passing to see the installation of a 700R4 Trans I did in a `70 Riv. He was interested in doing the same with his `72 Boat tail. There is more information about Doug on the ROA and BCA sights, and there is a memorial fund set up to help his family.

One of Doug's dreams was to put together a 523 stroker to be the ultimate cruiser in his `73 Stage 1 Riviera.

Though I knew Doug for only a short time, I will miss him.

    Goddammit!!!!!!

I have known Doug for 5 years. Purchased MANY parts off of him. MANY! He was integral in the Riviera Owners Association.

The Buick/Riviera family has lost a dear and valuable friend. I have lost a dear and valuable friend.

    God speed Doug.

I spoke with Doug only once when he volunteered his help to me on my '68 Riviera. Rather than sell me parts I thought I needed, he researched and let me know the real deal. I respect integrity wherever I find it and Doug showed real class. I'm sorry he's gone and my condolences to his friends and family.

    Why I miss Doug

Doug was a great person to talk to. He always took the time and effort to help us Rivers out . He was know as the Riv Cop due to his warning potential bidders on E.bay lookin' to buy questionable (re. fake) G.S.'s, Stage 1's and the like. Many a hot thread was started by this and that's what earned my respect because he felt he was doing good (and he was). He kept my respect and friendship by waiting months sometimes for payment when I had more pressing needs and refusing to sell to someone else at a higher price because he knew we had searched sometimes for over a year for a particular bracket or doo-dad. He will be missed terribly. Here's to you friend :beer
    Happy Rivving!!!!:TU:
