Double groove alternator pulleys

    My question is if they came from factory with dual belts? Heard yes and no......
    I tried dual belts on my GSX in the 80s and it seemed like one belt was always looser than the other.

    They only had dual belts if they had A/C. The front belt was tightened around just the alternator and the other was tightened around the A/C compressor and probably touched the alternator rear pulley but, not tight on it.

    Stage 1 also got duel groove pulley even on non A/C but only used the outer groove.

    I've seen a few cars running 2 belts ….not correct apparently

    Belt manufacturers used to offer matched sets.
