I installed some nice Boss 338 20" wheels on my 1994 Roadmaster wagon with some low profile 45 series rubber and really love how it looks, it gets thumbs up from folks of all ages when I take it to the shows. It also has been lowered a couple of inches with Vogtland springs, uerthane sway bar bushings, PMT boxed rear trailing arms and Bilstein shocks make it stick to the road. In the engine dept. it has a bigger 52 mm throttle body with air foil, K&N cold air intake kit. I've got some other items to install as time permits like a set of Edelbrock headers, a Pypes X pipe with stainless Magnaflows and even a rare set of GM export cat delete pipe sections and also a Caprice 9C1 cop car rear sway bar to finish up the suspension mods.
I don't like the big wheel treatment on intermediate sized 60's musclecars, as I prefer most factory dog dish, rallye wheel and day 2 aftermarket period styled wheels for them.

Got 20's with 275/40 in rear and 245/40 in front, and love the feel. Matches great with the power of the 455, 200R4, and 3:73 gears. Looks like a dominating Muscle car, evenly balanced..

    LOL!

I agree. Just not a fan of big rims in general. At times 18's can look good on the right car, but there's a point at which, at least IMHO, they go past the point of looking like they belong there. Let's see, what do I liken it to....Like maybe putting arched Pella windows on a 1967 single-wide trailer. The original windows look better on the single wide, or at least more like they belonged there. It's all about balance. Usually purists are never going to like a donkey kong'd car.

It reminds me of that episode of Fast 'n Loud where they shortened that VW bus by like 5 feet. I couldn't believe they cut that thing and made a circus mobile out of it.

I didn't look through all the pages of this thread so hopefully the pic of this POS hasn't been posted yet. Can you cruise down the freeway at 70 in something like this? I wouldn't want to be in it at that speed. Come to think of it, I wouldn't want to be in it-period. I guess they don't make that size tires so he just drives it on the rims. Where's the stepladder-in the back seat?

I doubt it would get very far without a driveshaft either.

I have to be honest here, I should have done a little more looking before buying my tires and rims.

With all the suspension upgrades the car handles great and I really do like the responce but,
I think the 18's or it could be the rubberband tires that are making me think something's a little off with the look.
Getting compliments all the time on the look and stance but I still keep thinking the 15" Buick rims would look best.

Besides the fact that there are sooooo many non Buick cars that have the AR torque thrust II wheels, I may end up changing.
Just need to think about how much handling I'm going to sacrifice to go with more rubber instead of rim.

That us the dilemma for sure. As for me I say, form follows function. I love the way the car handles with the 18" wheels.

    Guys,
I thought I should give an update (even if it is years late lol). Not one year after these Ridlers were installed, I have horrible nibbling and putting on the outer rim rings. No weird chemicals were used or driven through. The sellers and manufacturer were absolutely no help . It seems they tried to blame me for actually driving on them!! Lol

I don't know if the big rims look stupid or not but seeing this thread title makes me feel like my IQ slips a few points every time I read it.
