Does anyone know what part number was for Hi-jacker air shocks?

The white versions? Or perhaps a set to sell? Getting down to that last few things for my car and am in need of some vintage air shocks. I searched the internet trying, to even find the part number for the rear shocks,to no avail.

Hey Pat... I went with some Delco or Gabriel (?) brand jobs that looked exactly like the Gabe. Hi-Jackers of yore. They were the exact duplicate of what came off the car. Those were about 30 years old, so do the math. The plus side is they were about 69.00 for the set. I searched all over on line and local, and they were all within a few bucks of each other.

I'm doing those again next week on the '64 with rear brake lines etc. and springs. Im wearing goggles back there for the falling dirt; I hafta work on the floor!

The upper towers are to help clear the 3" exhaust. Notice the upper bushings are gone on the old ones. ws

I had a white set on the back of my high school car, rode hard but looked cool.

I agree that the ride was not the best but I am still trying to day 2 retro my car...I will be swapping out the new 455 rear springs to a set that will be a bit taller as well. I don't want to make the same mistake again as I did many years ago and rely on the shocks to keep the car off the tires.

I used hijackers for many years in the 70s and 80s. Until it was discovered that they fractured the upper mounts in my GS. I warn against them and I concur with the proper spring or as an alternative airbags.

Yeah they are good at breaking through the frame. They provide a very small surface area for the weight they carry. Terrible idea.

Just to clarify...I am putting in a taller rear spring set in my car to clear the 295/50 tires.I want the air shocks just for mainly appearance looks.I want to go the day 2 route in adding things that would have been used when the car was new. It's hard finding exact period correct pieces since most after 50 years are long gone.I am taking my adjustable upper and tubular lower control arms off and reinstalling the factory arms and will be adding ladder bars. I am after the look. Not planning on racing this car or driving it cross country. I have only put about 200 miles on it sitting like it is.I want to enjoy it on smaller jaunts to the store etc..

I had to buy a pair a couple years ago and was able to choose black or white.
