Tom There has been reservations about using VooDoo series cams due to the aggressive ramp rates versus valve train stability. Here is one example where JW was using the Lunati Voodoo 10960703 during a cam comparison session. Note Jim's comments starting with post #22. http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.p...testing-(Larry-s-motor)&p=1786004#post1786004 That particular voodoo cam is a lot larger than the one you are looking at so it might not demonstrate the same problem however I've seen a similar instability with voodoo cam on a straight six build with a profile close to the one you posted. Well, I went ahead and went against my own "gut" feelings and ordered this Cam. I would rather have run a T/A 212, as I've used it before with good results. I will let everyone know if it turns out to be a turd.
ended up cancelling the order. I couldn't with good conscience not support TA Performance. So, some night this week I will more than likely order another TA212. This also help R&D at TA towards more new products, like a pair of Aluminum 350 heads.
I agree with purchasing from TA to support their R&D for us and have done the same with all of my performance parts. Sure there is probably better, cheaper, nicer stuff out there, but Mike has always been good to me so I continue to support that business. For my current motor, I chose the 284-88h cam. Very similar to the 212, just advertised as having a bit more torque. The car is a blast to drive and since I don't race it, having all the BBB torque down low suits my GS perfectly. I don't have the experience with Scott Browns cams, but I have read many great reviews. I bet they are awesome.
