Do I need to add a heater hose ?

I am not running a hose from my water pump through a heater core and back to the intake manifold. I have the heater hose connections at water pump and intake just blocked off stopping any water from going through them. Should I have a hose running from the water pump to the intake instead and would this change the reading of the water temperature at the sending unit because it's located at the same general location on the intake as the water inlet ? Thanks for info. Roger

Doesn't make any difference- AC cars have a valve that shuts off water flow to the heater core, after all.
