I bought a new hei from Ta and it says all rpm in at 3500. Should I recurve it so everything is in by 2500.
What car? What gears? What engine? On most vehicles I deal with, "all in" by 2800--3200 works pretty well. Heavy vehicles with highway gears and mild engines may need the curve "slowed down" to 3200--3500 rpm range. Light vehicles with high-numerical gears and high-powered engines can have the curve "sped up" to 2800 rpm. I haven't worked on an engine that needed timing "all in" by 2500, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. "I" would try it as-is, and see how it works. Be sure to try both ported vacuum, and manifold vacuum for the vacuum advance. Use whatever works best.
Drop it in the way it came out of the box, then you can play with it but don't do such without having a marked off balancer up to at least 38 degrees.
