Several years ago he was talking about possibly repro'ing a 69 dash bezel. We spoke and I sent him a good dask bezel to use as a template. Months and months went by and I called and he said he was going to send it back to me but it never came. I called again and again and left repeated messages as well as spoke with him and others. He never repro'ed them and I never received it back. So, in short, my answer would have to be yes, I guess I have been stuck in one way. This is not a slander, it just is what it is. I'm sure he may be a real nice guy. I gave up after a while but only because I had another one. Maybe someone here has it on a 69 that he restored for you. Hope it worked out well for you. I personally do not do business with people like that no matter how busy they may be. I'm really busy too and I don't think I owe anybody anything.
I never did business with him, but I wanted to make another point: Who in their right mind would default on a business deal, especially now with the internet? One bad post can reach thousands of potential customers. The posts here have cost him a lot of future potential business.
Frank, all I'm saying is that such a post is best accompanied with some minimal details of the situation. I've never heard any bad info on the guy, but it appears here that you are not alone. Sorry to hear you and others have had issues with him.
I've had Dave do work for me in the past and was always very satisfied with the work he did. If you've owned/operated a business long enough, sooner or later you'll have a dissatisfied customer. The dissatisfaction maybe due to something that a business owner failed to do, or maybe not. The measure and character of a good business owner has more to do with what he/she does to correct the problem than the problem itself. Perhaps another way to ask the question is "For those of you that have had problems with XXXX, what has he/she done to correct the problem"? Running a business is both challenging and rewarding.
I spoke to Dave on Wednesday. He has been dealing with a family issue that has had him away from home for several weeks. He just returned this or last week and he's trying to get caught up. Dave is a stand up guy and he's old school - no computer, no paypal, etc. Give him a call on his cell phone. He will make good.
Well, if anyone still needs to hear about Dave Kleiner, I would give him a big thumbs down.........stay away from him. Remember the "GS Club" 70 grills; I sent him 3 for his famous paint job on them; after a year of calls to him and his many family/ health excuses, I had to threaten legal action to get them back. I ultimately did, but what a hassle. Additionally I am hearing that his 4 speed Z bars don't line up properly with the frame and two "new" Muncie transmission issues such as charging for internal components that in fact are not replaced and other "nightmares", with no resolution on his part. Maybe his radiator hoses are fine but........JMTC.
I know you posted this some time ago but I have had negative situation would love to discuss with you.
