Good news CARS has reproduced the wood grain and it looks great
When ordering you MUST ask for the newest version

    first one also says
"New reproduction backlit dashkit in the correct woodgrain finish." and it has the AC version...

#2 has some funny looking dash components, wouldn’t you say?

That's the complete woodgrain kit for the console too, but I do agree with Ajesh, I'd call.

I would have to see those in the flesh to be able to tell. So far, the only one I've seen that is closest is the ones on ebay from this guy...which was posted earlier in this thread.

Dumb question: how are the old decals removed without removing the dash? Or is the dash removed?

Or are they just applied over the old ones?

They peel right off. A little heat helps.

I'll be talking to Jeff about this at CARS and see about stocking the newest versions. We need a better solution than what's currently on the market.

I find it incredibly hard to believe (and frustrating) that with 50 years of new technology the process of reproducing parts is still so hard to do!!!!!!!!

I strive to carry the best stuff out there so if you guys see something I can improve on please feel free to let me know. My end goal is to carry all these parts (from all Buick Vendors) under one roof.
I'm trying to stay away from any products that will leave the customer dissatisfied.

2019 Was a starting point for getting these parts in stock and on the website. I'm almost there! More parts coming along with a few new vendors!
Thanks to all of you that have given me a chance to be a part of your project!

Ok here are the pics. Unfortunately they are not a bit see-thru as stated:
The print is nice but the texture of the sticker is not...looks kinda cheap:

this is what was on the car...repro as well...cheap print but at least backlit:

The parts all have the parts place stickers on their plastic bags.

I ordered the console part as well. Those have better print wich looks nice but the texture of the sticker is crap...

    here is my original console:

take a look at the nice surface the fake wood sticker has:

    this is nothing like it:

For those wondering how I found out the stickers are NOT backlit...I peeled them off hand held my phone light at the backside...no light coming through.

It is really frustrating that noone reproduces something correct but everyone claiming their stuff is correct...

I spent hours restoring the climate control panel and its housing wich I got from GS Fred only to be dissapointed by some minor quality parts...

Did you specify to get the new style? Apparently they have reproduced a better product since the crappy ones. I still need to order mine, but was more curious to see it before I commit.

Did these have 3M printed on the back side ?

I have the Newer Version from TPP which has 3M printed on the back side.
    These are "back lit translucent" . . . . .

these are the old repros wich were on the car:

    you can see the difference.
The print itself looks almost the same and it always bothered me when I was driving the car...
some furniture adhesive foil would look better. I may try that on the console. the structure on the foil is crap

Well, I just received a set of the latest set of CARS repro dash woodgrain kit DK702AT "Dash Kit w/ AC". I say this with great respect for CARS because they are really, really Olds and Buick guys to the core. The lettering on the Headlights and Wiper piece is not the same as the original and the wood grain looks off to me. As far a the translucency of the Heater and A/C piece ..... if if shine a really bright light behind it, I can see some duller light getting through, but frankly, the lights (which provide the back-ligh) in the heater and A/C control unit head are not that bright ..... maybe I'll find an LED super bright bulb to try for te back-lighting.

I recall some woodgrain-like texture to the original inserts. Am I wrong? I have an NOS auto console chrome top plate with a woodgrain insert and it has a slight texture. I will dig out my last set of Greg Setter dash woodgrain kit and compare. I recall his letters were spot-on. I'll be able to comment then ... maybe take some pics.
