This is hopefully of some help for those who lose their dash lights all of a sudden.I checked the fuse and all was ok.Suspected the headlight switch and replaced same with a used one from one of my"junk" containers and still nothing.Bought a new switch and everything works.Lessons to be learned:don't rely on used electrical bits and stay the heck out from under the dash if you can avoid it.The switch for a '71(and presumably others)is available from the General-part number 10495532.Cheaper from GM than from Year One for me and available overnight.Nice to have it fixed!
