    Hey, No_Lift :TU::TU:

I ALWAYS appreciate your and everyone's advice and expertise.

I totally understand what you are saying ... that's why I called Jim Wiese on Saturday to make sure again.

Mr. Wiese laughed when I asked him again on Saturday, and gave me this reply over the phone ... "Chris, let me tell you this ... when you're driving around in the streets, you won't even know the converter is THERE ... until you STEP ON IT."
The 2800-stall converter was not recommended for the 3rd time. :Dou:

GSX-Steve told me over the phone that that converter is good ... "it's completely normal driving around until you step in the gas pedal ... then, All-Hell-Breaks-Loose." I like the way Steve said that. LOL

I thanks you again for your expertise, concern that I might be screwing up by getting the wrong converter, and EVERYTHING, No_Lift :TU::TU:

You actually had me scared (which is a good thing) about that converter being WRONG for my Buick.

    Thanks again.

    Hey, No_Lift.

I called Jim Wiese again, and called TA Performance speaking to Tim.

They both agree on the 3000-3200-stall converter.

Once I mentioned Jim Wiese to Tim, he immediately told me to, "Take Mr. Wiese's advice regarding the 9.3 -inch 3000-3200... because NOBODY knows better than JIM." And they both suggested avoiding the 11-inch converter my tranny-builder Tyrone was trying to get me to buy.

I really appreciate your concern, and expertise.

... YES; as soon as Tyrone rebuilds my TH400 and installs the Jim Wiese 9.5" converter (buying it around October 12th of this year), my Buick and I will be ready. I am set to go to Englishtown with Tyrone in October ... or my friend Greg Hearn.

My manually shifting broke the 10-inch torque converter my engine builder supplied with my 455.
That torque converter looks IDENTICAL to a B&M converter.

    Hey, Ethan.

Thanks again for your recommendation of a R&R torque converter. :TU::TU:

The price Greg gave me was a good amount of $$ more than a Jim Wiese torque converter.

I told him tech data on my Buick and everything.
He also suggested I get a 3000-3200 stall converter, just like Tim today at TA Performance.

I appreciate everyone's help and time on this.

Have a great remainder of this week.

Not sure how that's possible, Greg's Billet multi disc lockups are only $895

    Hey, Ethan :TU:.

I swear to God that I asked Greg for a street/strip 9.5in that's around $375 as you told me to, and he told me his 9.5-inch converter that stalls @ 3000-3200 rpm sells for $515 (if I'm not mistaken) excluding shipping, is what I need.

Believe me ... I WISH to God I could have gotten the converter for much less, due to my almost non-existing budget.

I appreciate it, and at least I learned that I really needed a 3000-3200 stall converter instead of the 2800 stall converter (that looks identical to a B&M torque converter) ... BEFORE getting to the track and it failing there. I'm ordering it from Mr. Wiese on Tuesday, God's Will.

    Good evening, ALL.

... I'm also missing a crank pulley bolt, along with not having the correct 2 bolts used in unison with TA's mechanical fuel pump block off plate.

Chris; I think its a silly move to remove that fuel pump if your car is running fine. Your car will not burn to the ground. If you are still concerned, a battery cutoff switch would be a better part to install. No power to the electric pump, no fire.

However, if you want to run just the electric, LEAVE the mechanical pump where it is. Disconnect the fittings and add your connector, then just run the lines the way you mentioned in the video. The mechanical pump will just hang out there, and serve as the block off plate. I have it this way on my car, no issues. That way if you want to go back, the mechanical pump is already there. No screwing around with sealant or different bolts, or removing the pump.

... THANKS very much. I was scared because a guy on Facebook told me that. I was wondering 2 days ago ... what would happen if I just bypass the TA pump ... THANKS, DUDE. :TU::TU: I will bypass it tomorrow morning. Have a great weekend.
