Your penchant for detail will be well satisfied if you can get that build sheet from him. It's the only way to know what you received provided it's filled out properly. If he can't provide it, an unconditional warranty would be the only thing stopping me from tearing that thing down and measuring EVERYTHING.

lol, Devon ... for me it's over now:cool:.

As I stated before that I NEVER heard of a build-sheet till you mentioned one ... even when Scotty:beer at Pee-Gee (while in Brooklyn) built my Buick 455 ... a few months later ... the driver's side rocker-arm shaft had 3-rockers (stock) torn off ... I had to take it back to him in-car. Scotty "by mistake" did NOT change the driver's side rocker-shaft from aluminum to steel (he told me). I watched him change/repair the shaft & rockers. Mind you ... I drove to him at least 3-times:shock: complaining of "a sound like BRACELETS coming from the driver's side if the motor.

Scotty was, and still is "My Boy." I have mucho respect for Scotty & Dan Smith.

    I'm moving on now.
I understand your adamant concern regarding your best friend's Buick V6 motor Dan built ... but that is not MY issue. Again; Dan built my Boy's (Greg Hearn) brother's motor 20-years ago ... no probs YET, annnd he built Greg's stroker motor as well (in Albany, NY) ... again, no probs yet. Greg and I go way back as friends when Pee-Gee built my 1st-ever Buick 455 ... it would be great if you two could chat some day. Everyone else so far have given me very positive feedback regarding my D&S motor.

I honestly don't care about "any" build sheet ... not even Scotty's; and my OCD-issues are "tricky" ... I don't even care to know ANY of my Family's Birthday's ... from day-1 (lol). Heck, the ONLY way/reason I knew MY MOTHER'S (may she rest in peace) Birthday was ... hers was 2-days BEFORE mine (lollll) ... honestly ... "BUT I LOVE THEM ALL TO DEATH."

    Thanks just the same.
    Have a great night.:beer

AH yes! A Big Block BUICK, a sight that can bring a teardrop to a glass eye!

I am curious though why the inside of the water pump on the timing cover painted? Wont that wear off and send paint all over the cooling system?

Please keep us posted on your project. Mark

I just had my motor done by Finishline and I got a build sheet. It should be standard with any build. Not knocking anyone but I thought that was standard operating procedure.

... and some more pics. Paint damage (ONLY caused by the damn chain) happened getting the motor out of the pick-up truck. I take care of that tomorrow.

... a few pics of my Stage-1 Regal's front air spoiler (a gift from Dan Smith), and my "original" 1973 Buick 455 Rochester "800-CFM" 4-bbl carburetor that D&S had sent out to be rebuilt/rejetted for my Stage-1 D&S-462.

    LOLLL, AIIIIGHT!:3gears:

I just (literally) got back in the house from visiting the shop that's going to "transform" my Regal. The shop stated that they will need my Regal and everything else "on their operating table" for 9-days maximum.

    Now let's make this very, very clear (lol);

    On or about July 17th 2010 (Saturday), I plan to take "half-the-$$$," my 1987 Buick Regal (olds 307, th200-4, 7.5" limited-slip 3:08-geared rear), 1984 Buick T-type 10-bolt posi-rear w/3:42's, Chrome-moly GN driveshaft, my new D&S Buick462, my "built" th400 w/torque converter, and EVERY-SINGLE new part I bought for my Stage-1 Regal to the "SHOP."

On or about July 31 2010 (Saturday), I plan on picking up my 90%-complete Stage-1 Buick 455 Regal from the "SHOP," and drive it straight to Meineke (already set everything up). Meineke's task is to complete my exhaust system from "header collectors" BACK, and inspect/correct our headers installation.

Theeeennn, I drive the Stage-1 Regal straight to the "auto electrician" so they can install my MSD-6AL-2 ... and inspect/correct ANY electrical mistakes created by the "SHOP."

As soon as I pick the Stage-1 Regal up from the auto-electrician ...

    MY STAGE-1 BUICK 455 REGAL GOES ... HOME.:3gears:

PS ... ALL labor fees from THIS posting on, are "TOP-SECRET" ... yet very reasonable.

    Thanks much.

4.42 GEARS are going to be a little tough on the street, and
I would be worried about the shop putting in the engine if they cant wire a 6AL Box

THANKS VERY MUCH!:beer I made a mistake in posting "4:42's" ... I just made the correction.:TU: The rear has the factory "3:42" gear ratio. Additionally ... I put the 1st base/right out of a 74' Electra Buick 455 in my '85 Regal ... I knew NADA regarding ELECTRICITY (lol) ..."YOU-DAMN-SKIPPY"; I "ain't" letting the "SHOP" even "see" the MSD6AL-2. I want to be 100% certain this electrical issue does not BECOME an "electrical-issue" later down the line. lollll I assure you the "SHOP" can install the MDS correctly ... but if "I" have a tooth-ache ... I ain't going to no PODIATRIST. LOL
