    GSXMEN Got Jesus?

Anyone know if Enkei still makes a model 62 rim?? It looks like a modular (better looking IMO) Buick rallye. It would be sweet to have some 17" rims with that style!!:TU:

I also like the 17" Torque Thrust II's and Convo Pro's!:bglasses:

rich's GS would have to be the best looking car with 17's that i've seen, with the exception of maybe the black 67 GS400 that someone here owns.

rich - my pleasure, i've watched those vids on your site, and it's got a great look (and a pretty throaty big block, it seems). just makes me a bit sad becuase my car won't look close to that until i'm through college and gainfully employed. (i'm not sure what 'gainful' entails but my current job isn't it!:pp )

Hey David, Just take it little by little. It looks like you have a great starting point! Your doing the smart thing right now by focusing on college. I'm sure your patience will pay off in the long run....... who knows, you may make so much doe, you wont have to do all the work yourself (like I did) although some of it's fun to do............. Hopefully when you get to pluging at it, it doesn't take you 3 1/2 years to complete it :Dou: Man their alot of work.

My personal favorite, poverty caps! Anyone on here have a GS equiped with them? I don't see too many at all, I sure like the sleeper look though. I love buick rallyes, but I'd give poverty caps an extra point in my book.

rich - not even out of high school yet, actually...i'll probably end up going to tennessee tech a few hours away. gotten a good ACT score that should pull decent scolarship money, along with an ASVAB that'll help me get some from the army as well...but the big problem? i have no idea what i even want to study.:Dou:

:eek2: guess you can't take me up on the beer then

It's hard to go wrong with a IT / degree. If you like tech stuff that is......... Just focus on generals and it will come to you.

that's probably what i'll go into. as much as i like cars and working on them (sometimes...there's some work you just dread despite how much you love the car...), i think i'm still a geek at heart. ;)

if i end up with a bachelors in computer science i think i'll pull through just fine.:)

back to the subject at hand. i would have to say old school wheels are best for older cars. crager S/S, centerlines, and maybe keystone klassics. most of the newer wheels are either something out of a cartoon, or a variation on the older style wheels. i might go with 16" wheels if someone gave me a set but i prefer stock or the affore mentioned class. now, on newer cars the sky [and your budget] is the limit. BIG wheels and LOW tires only enhance the already great handling these cars are capable of. but there is something about MEAT with big white letters and shinny 15" flash that sets well with me. of course, i am from the 70's, where these wheels ruled, and point and stab was the norm for go fast cars. rob':Smarty:'

Thanks Smartin. I did all the body work, and my buddy and I shot it in my garage a couple of years ago.

It is the original 1969 Embassy Gold. I always thought is was supposed to be yellower, but thats how it came out, and I've seen 3 others with the exact paint. So I guess it is correct.

Buick Ralley wheels or Poverty caps for me!
I've thought about doing body colored wheels and Poverty caps on my Riv, It would at least be Something different.
In my opinion, all the current aftermarket wheels look the same. But thats me.
(Could they at least use some imagination and get away from the "star" theme?).

The tire height is the same as original so my spedo is still correct. I intentionally kept the same rolling radious for that reason.

    Who looks at the speedometer?

I can't see mine anyway because of the gauge cluster on the column. But it wouldn't matter, my speedo is about 80MPH off...
