Spent more time straightening the hood to get it nice, lots of prep for little time of spraying. Got the body sealed and 2 coats of base. Bugs started to become an issue so we held off for the night. Found a small section of ripples on the passenger quarter where I didn't do much body work. Figures that you couldn't feel it but its showing now. Other then that, all of the repaired areas are flawless. And I am very pleased how it all turned out. After paying the painter, supplies, and rentals.. I'll have about $2200 into it. So for the price its fair. More pictures to come tomorrow after 2 more coats of base and we lay clear. But here she is with some color on.

Bad day, had some setbacks but everything is painted and cleared. Had to redo the clear on the hood and decklid and in the process, ran out of plastic at 9:45 on Sunday night. So we removed the 2 parts to set aside and paint separately, and while doing that I nudged a florescent light bulb that fell off and shwacked the fresh quarter paint gouging out a eraser size chunk and coating the side in that funky white stuff. Then noticed while the car was outside a short bit for some cleanup, a bird dookied on the fender. I figured I would have a month of fresh paint before anything happened, and the first pictures I get to post of the clear coat are right after the bulb incident. Where's the Tylenol..

Have to admit the car is far from perfect. But its all one color now and rust free, so I have that on my side. I can pick out the issues pretty easy, but it takes some effort for the average Joe to see it. Keeping in mind this is my 1st attempt on a restoration, it could have came out worse. We'll have to see what happens after the wetsand and buffing.

On a funny note.. Had a group full if youngins confuse my Buick for a 69 charger while on the trailer on the ride home. I'm still cracking up about that one

Been a bit since I updated, so here are some pictures from the day I brought her home. 2 residences and 5 other vehicles later I'm still truckin along. Wet sanding is going slow but its getting done. The new color is still a bit of a shock but it looks sweet in the sunlight. Hoping to get everything done concerning the body by July, then have time to work the bugs out before BPG. Almost there..

Had a panel that had a spot so bad that birds could bathe in it after a rain storm. So I decided to take a grinder to my fresh paint to fix the problem. Stinks to do the same job twice, but worth it in the end.

I dig the black steelies with the dog dishes. I almost did that with my car.

Thanks! I had thought about painting the wheels body color when this was going down, but I really like the way the black breaks up the rest of the green.

Tranny swap, threw in a shift kit for grins.. Accidentally drilled the kit for the heavy street strip mode.. So let's see what happens.

Actually had to take it back out. I was having some pressure issues with it even after a couple of tricks. So the th350 is staying in till the 2004r gets sorted out.
