    Hello all,
I introduced myself yesterday on the newbie thread and was told to start a thread here documenting my build. I am restoring an original 1970 GSX that is a 4463 vin # with a QQ paint code which is Saturn yellow. It is a complete frame off resto with the entire body and frame being media blasted and starting over from scratch. I am heading down to the body shop today to cut the hole in the hood for the hood tach { the front clip was stolen when the car was stolen a few years back}. I have tons of pics, I just have to resize them to post, or use phtobucket or something similar. I have been working on it on an off for a couple of years and it is starting to come together. I am going to put the new motor and trans in the chassis this weekend. This is going to be an awesome ride and I can't wait, because I get to drive it !!! Hope most of you find it as enjoyable as I do and look forward to your comments, good or bad. Will start posting pics tonight or tomorrow ....Thanks for reading...Dave :)

Thanks guys for stopping buy, I hope I can make it worth your time ..Dave

I just returned from drilling the holes in the hood for the hood tach. My painter was to scared to drill it with the diagram I sent him so I had to drive 180 miles roundtrip but it was well worth it. I must either love this **** , or I am crazy one. or maybe both!!

Well I am trying to put these on photo bucket. If it works these will be pictures of how it was when I got it back and disassembly of chassis and drivetrain. I tried to add a title and a brief description on most pics, but I do not know if it worked...someone let me know if you can view them or not becuase I am not that hip with these things...Dave :Do No:

Please consider registering your car with the GSX Registry at www.buickgsx.net. It is free, you get cool statistic and stuff and I have been around for more than 10 years collecting information.

    Thanks,

    Mark

    Hey Mark,
Hello and thanks for the tip, but I was enlightened on the same issue in my " wet behind the ears" intial thread and as I stated there upon getting it back, which in a million years we never thought we would see it again, we registered it with I believe a guy named Wayne. I will double check that with the owner, and he may chime in and clarify this as he monitors this thread.....Thanks and stop by any time....

Thanks BUICKRAT, It is something to finally seeing it come together, and I would like to thanks Erik, N360LL on this forum for the bumper I got from him today....He happened to have a nice one that I can have rechromed to complete the front end parts. I got to meet him where I was putting the motor in as it was near his house. Nice to put a face to someone you meet on here. All the sheetmetal except the body is in primer and guide coated, hope to have final blocking complete next week, then we get to start to put on the Saturn yellow PPG that will start to bring this thing back to life......more pics soon!!! Dave

Here are a few pics from 2001 right after I rebuilt the motor and trans the last time, before it was stolen from the body shop while awaiting a paint job...but that is another story!!! which has meant a lot of these :dollar: :dollar: :dollar: and quite a few of these :beers2: I know the badges on the front fender are wrong, but I did not put them there, lol....... http://s1126.photobucket.com/albums/l608/dragracer5344/before%20car%20wastolen%20pics/

    Dragracer,

Wayne Roberts has a service called the GSX Historic Society. Wayne only provide the service of documenting the cars. The GSX Registry which is run by me collects data on existing cars and presents the statical data on the cars to people in the registry. The registry is complete free and confidential. Please check out the website or if you have additional information please let me know.

    Thanks,

    Mark
