I was just wondering if anyone was going to or live in Mississippi and was going to Cruisin The Coast in Biloxi Mississippi. Scheduled for Oct 6-13 2013. Todd, I live in Biloxi and take a vacation every October for Cruisn the Coast. Right now are short on Bus Drivers and a Mechanic is out from surgery. This year my vacation has not been approved yet. If I dont get off,:af: I will still be down there at night and on my days off. Saturday and Sunday. I have not attended the event with my GS as it is still a work in progress.
Poppaluv and Freakazoid, I'll have to get the exact location of where we are going to be staying(bringing camper). Maybe we can meet up at some point. We will be there Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning mid week all the way thru the final Sunday. Were from Gonzales, La Todd
I'll be there for Friday and Saturday, got a business requirement that keeps from going for the week like usual. Also won't have the car as the logistics just didn't work out. So, I'll see how much fun it is watching instead of driving!
Gary, You have my number. We can try to hook up and watch cars together. When the traffic gets terrible we like to sit back and watch anyway. You can see anything and everything while sitting there watching the cars go by.
Didn't you run up to me in Edgewater? That was crazy! I can't believe I remember that. I must be getting better. This year, I'm determined to get a prime spot to be seen on the beach, sit back and bother everybody within earshot.lol. Drink up and let the wife drive. Ill pm you guys my number later. We have a room at that casino on a back bay. I can never keep em right. Weve been to most. We go with our "club" - (Road Dawgs)-about 15 guys with cars. We go to cruise ins and have dinner kind of thing. 3 of them camp for the week and the rest just drive home every night. I'd ddo that to of I wasn't on the s. Shore. We try to meet up at least at two spots. We'll be there thurs- early Sat. Unless we run into a throng of LSU fans amd I'm forced to stay.lol
Glad this bad weather is coming thru now. Maybe we will be alright mid week thru closing weekend. For those of you going we will be located on the road on side of Hooters. Go down the street and there is a parking lot on the right that will have campers in it. We will have our dad's 32 Ford 5 window with us. Frame is painted corvette red and body still in primer. Come join us and have a few cold ones. We will arrive Wednesday 10-9 thru 10-13
I've attached some of the Buicks I got pictures of this weekend. I am sure there were many more than these. This show has 6 different official venues spread out over a 30 mile distance. Not counting every parking lot or hotel with countless cars stacked up in them as well. 7042 Officially registered cars!!!! WoW. And who know how many were not registered. Cars from all makes and models from cars out of the pasture where they had been sitting for the last 40+ years to trailer queens with not a scratch or scuff on them. Truly amazing. Had a great time.
Todd, sorry I couldn't hook up with you guys. I got roped into taking some visitors around and showing them the show. Friday afternoon it took me almost 2 hours on the beach road from Bay St. Louis to Biloxi, so yea there are a lot of cars. Last year the coolest thing I saw, other than the Buicks was a giant Radio Flyer wagon. This year it was a late forties or early fifties Flxible Road bus. That thing had to have cost a fortune to restore. (they had straight eight Buicks in them originally). When is that car show in Gonzolas ?
Not a problem not meeting up. It would almost be like finding a needle in a hay stack. We have found some alternate routes to get around the major hang ups in traffic. Biggest problem I see is the city doesn't try to manage the traffic at all. Biggest hang up is the traffic lights. Once past them the traffic flows pretty well. I saw plenty of freeky automobiles including the red wagon. They say they drove it all the way from Houston area. 50-55 mph at the most all the way. The show at Cabelas in Gonzales is the third Saturday of each month if my memory serves me correctly. Next one is this weekend.
