Hello. According to the stage 1 registry, the flame orange stage 1 hardtop in 72 was made with a white top, covert top and flame orange / arctic white.
What is a covert top and was there a two tone manufactured ?

Covert is kind of a light tan color.

"Covert" was like a desert tan color. No two tone cars made. You might of seen pictures of one painted white and flame orange, but the car came flame orange from the factory

"Covert top" is when you look at your convertible in the backyard and see it is missing it's top. Then you find the "Covert top" hiding in your garage. That's my story and I'm stick with it.

Jason, please view the link ..... http://stage1registry.com/registry/1972_Stage1_Hardtop.pdf
scroll down to option zz1 and zc. can you explain this ? there was flame orange and white vinyl top and flame orange / arctic white BUT IT DOES NOT SAY VINYL TOP. It appears to me that there was a two tone made. There was only 1 of these cars manufactured. There have been some very unusual 1 off cars found to be real at the gsca nationals over the years.
You know, you have to wonder where such a car would be today and even if it hit the junkyard, how could someone who owns a junkyard scrap it ? you start thinking about stolen and ending up in other countries where they wouldnt care.
