Bob, just wanted to tell the guys thats my old engine you have now. it ran 12.8 in my 65 gs with 323 gears and a 2 speed. now that you have 3.73 gears a 4 speed auto with a low first gear 2800 stall. with your bigger carb and better heads that you ported. i bet you can run low 12s if you can hook it. :TU:
Sweet sound on a great looking car. :TU: BTW, that leaning pine tree near the video's end looks perilously close to toppling on your neighbors house.
For those of you thinking about a swap like this here is a small problem. My tv cable bracket is in the way. Small problem that I have to fix. I rigged a cable and am getting half trottle for test drive purpose.
All so wanted to say the 8.5 that i got from Ken''techg8'' Is working very good. both tires spin right away and its quite. Thanks Ken:TU:
:TU: nice looking car Bob! Edit: just caught the video...Jeez it sure sounds like it means business! Nice!
The last time I looked he was running a special on the exact fix. I think he was throwing in a flex plate.
Nice going there Bob!! Giving me the inspiration to get my ass in gear and get my 66 Done for the upcoming summer!!!! :TU:
Its 55 and sunny today so I thought I would push the car a little more today. Drove it down to my machinest shop and showed him my car he has heard about.I did about 55 down one stretch and eveything feels good. Ihave a Bm shifter and thought I would start pushing it a little. I put it in low and got some traction and run it to about 4500 and shifted to 2nd. Shift was solid as was 3 and 4. So far the EElco adaptor plate and parts are holding up!I dont want to tear anything up before spring, I want to drive this this summer. gsgtx, I dont know if it will run as fast as you ran. I guess getting traction will be the key.I guess this is all on the eelco adaptor plate set up. Hope it gave a few poeple some ideas:beers2:
Just a update, I have pushed the tranny adaptor pretty hard, so far so good. ....John Codman, how has your Benstend kit work so far?
Re: couldnt drive to yardleys last week, so[ EELCO adaptor thread just wondering if anyone else is using a eelco adaptor?
