From what firm are you buying it? What's the non-Covid lead time?

(Apologies for the slight hijack, but I will need the same for my 69 but am holding off until shortly before needing it due to time / breakage issues.)

I'm not sure, but I can order from Summit (Pilkington brand) and can special order whatever date code I want for a surcharge.

    Adam,
Look at the dates of the other glass to see what they are, then match it. That would get you close.

Also, for a "Flint Car", make sure it is "LOF" glass and not "PPG", or "DCL" on the etching. They probably will not offer the different glass plant manufacturing codes, so I would not worry about that.

The brand glass is as important as the date, regarding what you are doing.

As a reference my 70 GSX had three of the side glass were the same date and one was different by a month. The rear windshield was a month newer closer to the build date. The rear was a month before build date. The other side glass all 2-3 months before. I think my sport mirrors were two months prior. My windshield was missing. I made same as back glass.

Thanks guys. Hopefully the glass that came with the car is original. I’m pretty sure the glass I was looking at from Summit was LOF

I’m getting ready to remove an original front windshield from a Flint car, built in October/69. The car had AC and tinted glass. I don’t need it,but it’s not cracked,so I figured I would save it.
As far as removal goes: Sometimes I get lucky, sometimes I don’t.

just for reference, if you get a minute, please post the date of the glass so we can compared it to the 10/69 build date of the car.

    There were 3 different companies that produced glass for our cars;
    LOF Libby Owens Ford
    PPG Pittsburgh Plate Glass
    DCL Duplate Canada Limited

PPG made glass for the East Coast cars, such as Framingham Mass. for Buick or Linden NJ for Olds.
DCL made glass for the Canadian cars such as Oshawa
LOF made glass for the Flint and Framingham cars

My 70 GSX has all it's original glass and it is a 04 D build. I do know the side and front is a couple of months different. I know I made a chart I will have to find it...

    Nope,
The first one was purchased by Vic Boccardo, and the second one was mine.

When we first looked at the one Vic bought, the guy that owned it was a used car dealer and had taken it completely apart and all the pieces were separated into piles in 3 different barns. All the front ends were in one pile, all the seats in another, etc. You get the idea. Anyway I brought all my books with me and between the part numbers and the date codes we were able to find every piece with the exception of the front fenders. I remember telling the guy we wanted a particular front suspension set-up but the guy balked at that, as it had Pontiac wheels on it.

I told him I didn't care what wheels were on it but that was the original front suspension and we wanted it. Finally he talked to one of his employees who verified those were the wheels the car came in with. The guy also remembered throwing out the front fenders, as they were rusty, so we took a different set.

We just kept putting all the pieces together in a big pile until we had everything. That guy even had the correct radiator.

I also found both Build sheets for the car as well as the tag under the front pass. seat.

Boy was that a long day.

A few days later all the pieces showed up at my house, and I was able to document all the part numbers and date codes of the parts. This info has been incredibly valuable to me over the years to help verify other cars.

Here's one from an 11C Flint car. As I'd noted in the thread I linked to above, the logo is backwards (i.e. readable from inside the car). Also yours says "E-Z-EYE" & "SAFETY FLOAT" and mine is "SOFT-RAY" & "SAFETY PLATE"
