Correct painting for 1971 plastic hood grills

I'm about to chrome paint my '71 plastic hood grills and want to know which parts to use the liquid chrome marker on? Is it just the 6 ribs running from front to back of each grill or, is the border surrounding the grills also chrome? Anyone got a pic of properly restored '71 grills?

It's a little hard to tell from the pic but, are the ribs and the border around the grills chrome or just aluminum paint?

 

I'd suggest more of an argent silver.
