Hey guys, I'm in the middle of installing a Ranger Overdrive, and noticed that my pilot bushing is rotating in the crank...

I ordered a new pilot bearing with roller bearing needles, and decided to go ahead and replace the clutch and pressure plate while I'm at it...

Is the LUK 04-021 the correct clutch kit for the Buick 350? (10.4", 10-spline, 1.125" diameter)

Note: this for a Buick 350 in a Jeep, not racing. Just need a standard clutch kit, and the $380 for a Centerforce clutch, compared to the $90 Luk brand, seems a little steep...

Would like your opinions and experience. Thanks in advance.

(PS: The search function came up with nada...)

When it comes to clutch and pressure plates, you get what you pay for. I would use a standard bushing sized to fit both O.D and I.D. Check with JW to see if he carries the correct size bushing. I think he had some machined.

  4. Be very cautious of a needle pilot bearing. Your bellhousing must be centered with your crank within extremely tight tolerances in order for pilot bearings to last. I would highly recommend going with a good brass pilot bushing instead. A bushing will wear, where a bearing will fail
