    Hi

I've been looking for a top coer for my centurion, I've seen a few but non for sale. Is there anyone who has a template or measurements for the top cover? There's also a version made of glassfiber I think, looks really good. Anyone who has ever stumbled on this cover?

mmm.. pricey parts those convertible pieces. As long as there are yards, I'll try to avoid coming in contact with those stores. 300$ some some gears for the top??? You could by a cadillac parts car for a grand and use all the stuff from there, I suppose these shops are for the restorers who wants the car to look new. Regarding what top cover I'm after, it's not a parade style cover, it's a very simple two piece thing. There's a picture of it in the small manual, I'll scan it tonight, I'm at school at the moment. It's either one of those, or a vinyl one that I'm considering. I found this upholstery wholesale place which had good prices on vinyl and other interior bits and pieces. I've got their card at home if anyone is interested. I got a new vinyl rear window for 10$, and I bought 2 yards * 54 inches of vinyl for the interior for 30$. I thought I could either use it for the door panels that are coming apart, or make a top cover from it. The stores want like 100-150$ for one of those vinyl covers, but if I could get hold of a template I could probably have someone make me one for a bit less.

The fiberglass boots are referred to as Parade Boots. They were offered from the factory. And they're expensive!! That's one of the reasons I don't have one:laugh:

I first looked at a 72 LeSabre, it was silver and it had the fiberglass "lid" on top of the top, this also painted in silver, very nice. The car's interior was shot, and he had never even loooked at the top for the two years he'd had it. He had also paid 750$ to someone to rebuild the rear of the car. Makes me feel really good about fixing it myself  . He wanted 2750$ for it, not worth it by comparing to what's around. Those fiberglass covers shouldn't be too hard to re-manufacure, since it's a pretty simple shape. I guess you need to stumble on a set that's all busted up and crosses your path
