hey guys, im about to buy a car which comes with a bench and an auto on the wheel. I want to convert it to buckets with a console shift. I know its probably not gonna be easy, but at the same time i am gonna redo the floors/change the interior color from blue to black also...I was wondering if there were any kits that make the shifter conversion any easier, or do i just have to get parts from other buicks.... I dont know where to get the center section and everything, forgive my newbieness, but any help would be appreciated, and i figured this is the only forum which i should probably place this question...thanks in advance.

    George,
That was good timing! I am about to undertake the same sort of project. I am not ready for the console yet but that is planned for a later time. But the rest of the information will be very handy! Thanks alot! :TU: :beer

wow, that is an incredible write up!! Thank you very much, that will def. come in handy.

I know i'm asking for too much, but is there a good website where i can get repro parts, or junkyard parts, cause i would have no idea where to start getting parts, i can get the seats from poston, i know that, but as for the steering column, and the console shifter parts....i am lost. thanks for the help again.

I went to this yard in May to look at a '66 GS. It was a mess! Also spotted a '67 GS 340, and a few other old Buicks. There is a chance they might have something for you. They're located by the Phila Int'l Airport. Phone is 215-492-1885 or 215-492-1990.

Sign says 'Mikes Muscle cars'......It's on the stretch of road with all the auto dealerships....Took me over an hour to get there.
We were escorted thru the yard. Didn't get to look at much. So give 'em a call!

i just got mike's, he doesnt have any skylark's in, and he doesnt have any bucket interior 70-72 A body's. He said he gets stuff like that in once in a a while, so i should check back regularly.
