did Buick, (a-body), 70-72, offer a full length console with 4 on the floor? Seems to me that u could get this option in a Chevelle.

Closest you could get was the consolette and then the short console between the seats.

Oldsmobile Pontiac and Chevrolet offered the full length and I'm almost certain was the only option if you wanted a console with a 4 speed

Two different pieces ordered separately. The front shift console had no real purpose other than decorative. It did have the shift pattern in it though. Like you wouldn’t remember that after one drive. Funny the Oldmobile used the same console as the Auto. You just had to cut it out and add a square piece on to it. Helped a friend do that once.

I always thought Olds had the best looking interior of the Abodies,..the GS's look boring to me

The GTO and the Chevelle SS always looked more performance oriented imo

had a 68 Firebird full console 4 speed and a convert with super turbine 300 full console . switched to Buick when my 2 brothers kissed a tree with a 70 gs because they said they were uncontrollable... Ha,Ha,He

To me the worst is the chevelle. That huge expanse of black the held the gauges always looked cheap. 70-72. One advantage the Olds always had was the Hurst Dual Gate for Autos. Buick should have used it. I think last year for it in GTO was 67. Pontiac then went to their own in house style dual gate that was hidden. Most don’t even know it’s there. Firebirds too.

That is amazing to me? I have seen and used dozens and those things are bulletproof . He was doing something wrong or problem was with the transmission or a faulty cable. That is the first complaint I ever heard on one??
