This has become quite a good thread. I am considering an ankle holster and wondering if anyone uses one and how they like it. I know the size of pistol will be limited and that's OK. I have a Ruger LC9 CT which I love but even that might be too large for the ankle? 380's seem popular for the ankle.
I bought a Sneaky Pete belt holster and its nice but its a little larger and noticeable than I prefer. Seeking better concealment on summer day when wearing light clothing particularly such as going to church. I can't help but feel vulnerable to some evil whacko while sitting in the pew so looking for a good option.
Curious does anyone else carry in church?

Try a DeSantis Nemesis pocket holster.

Looks like a wallet in your pocket []. It's grippy on the outside so it stays put when/if you need to draw.

I pocket carry a Glock 27 (.40 S&W subcompact) daily in the summer and a Glock 23 (.40 S&W compact) in a shoulder holster daily in the winter. I have pocket carried the 23 but it is just about as big as you can fit in your front pocket (with a "fly" sticky holster). I prefer common caliber's to keep the cost down and not having to keep multiple caliber ammunition around. I also like to keep my everyday carry firearms with the same type and "feel", hence the Glocks. Do I have other makes and caliber's? Yes, of course but when you really need to depend on something to work, you better have something you are extremely comfortable with using and not have another "think" moment. It also helps a good friend of mine is a certified Glock armorer and does an excellent job tuning up the various models I own.

I have never used an ankle holster. To me, they would be difficult to draw from if not impossible when really needed.

Just added a Glock 43 (9mm) for myself and a Glock 42 (.380) for my wife to our collection this week. Hopefully can get some range time soon...retiring my Kimber from daily carry to use the 43. Lighter and simpler, two good traits in a carry gun.

For Church on Sunday, I mostly wear a suit or sports jacket that allows me to carry OWB on my side, concealed by the jacket. This is the most comfortable for me.
When I am not wearing a sport jacket or I know I will be removing the jacket, I carry my Kimber Micro 9 IWB with a DeSantis Sof-Tuck Tuckable Holster. This holster allows me to tuck my shirt tail in, over the weapon. Very few people at church know that I carry nor can they detect the weapon. I utilize the extended magazine in the Kimber Micro 9 for a better grip and control of the weapon.
In place of an ankle holster, I have been known to carry inside my slip-on work boots. I modified a IWB holster to attach inside my boot and it does very well when wearing jeans and a t-shirt.
I carry when I am not at work because I have one of the most dangerous jobs in the country, I am an un-armed school teacher when I am at work.

Interesting that more people carry in church than you would think. More pastors have been threatened more than you know. If your church does not have a security plan they need to get one. I go to a large church and we have plenty of cops, sheriffs, HP's, military, ex and current. They need to be trained to work together, so bullets are not flying in all directions. We live in a crazy world, just look at Chicago every week. Be prepared and have an overall plan. I am going to a gun range with friends, mostly ex and current military. Wow, from an expert to a hit and miss with a hand gun. I am planning on arranging time at the range with the entire family, grand kids and all. Yes they all have guns but need continued safety courses and you all do too!

I pocket carry as well, have tried carrying just about everywhere possible, but this is most comfortable for me, this is why I need a small pistol but still like some stopping power. I wouldn't go smaller than a 9. Like I said I love my little Ruger but I just want something different, been carrying the LC9 for about 5 years. Maybe a 40?

A lot of guys seem to like the Glocks, Im sure im gonna catch some heat for this but I just don't like the look of them, I know function comes first but I like something with looks as well.

If you think a .40 S&W is "snappy" (and they are), you really need to shoot that .357 with a 1 1/8 barrel. We had a .38 S&W J frame and it hurt to shoot. I can't imagine a full power .357 magnum in a J frame.

We call it the noisy cricket like Men in Black. It is not as bad as you may think, but with .357 you have the option of loading .38 Special.

What is your opinion of the S&W MP 2.0?

New Sig P365 is the new kid in town. Micro compact that carries 10 rounds of 9mm in a tiny gun. It’s unreal. Still not available in our not so great state of Mass. I have relative in NH who has one so I got to try it. Very nice gun. You guys that live in real free states should look into it. I am guessing other manufacturers are scrambling to copy it as we speak.

I tend to agree with you on the Glocks. Like it was chiseled out of a block of wood and painted black. Glock Gen 4 are more guns not allowed in Mass so pretty much off the table unless you pull some sneaky crap. I have a relative in law enforcement who has Glocks so I got to fire them, I find them to be no better than Smith &Wesson M&P’s which shoot just as well and are better looking. I get why guys like them for the reliability but there are as good alternatives now.

Absolutely. The huge hands and big curved thumbs are a dead giveaway.
