Would these fit well on my 350? I got nothing against any others, but I saw that it's kinda the go-to spring for GNs (980-12), so would they be good enough for my 350? 1970 SP 350, bone stock but with an 800cfm qjet, crower level 3, and TA HEI while it's in my Regal. Any input is appreciated.

If you look further into those springs you can find the answer you're looking for.

Look for the installed height for those and compare them with the installed height for the 350 heads is the first thing to look at.

Another thing to look at is the diameter compared to a sbb 350 spring's diameter and if there are the stupid 11* retainers available for if they are a different diameter.

Then look at the cams those are recommended for and compare with the cam you want to use with them.

Of coarse I could go and look those things up and give you the answer or I can let you learn how to do it yourself. I don't have the time so I'll have to let you have that fun. GL

Now compare the above with the 350 springs that is advertised to work with the cam you want to run.

Off the top of my head IIRC I think the installed height for a sbb 350 is 1.720" so those are within .020" of the 350 install height going by memory.

So the comp springs would work for my needs then? Crower's page doesn't say much if anything at all at what springs to run, other than their own. No way in hell I'm paying 150 bucks for springs.

Small block chevy springs will work for a 350

980s it is then. If they end up not working out, oh well. 48 bucks.

If anyone has any objections, I won't be ordering till monday. I'll be measuring the springs that are on the engine for comparison, but I doubt they're original.

awhile back i called comp tech , question pertaining to buick 350 beehive springs - i THINK that was the number he said to use . maybe i have a note in my comp catalog . will check . at work now .
actually a quick call to them monday before ordering might not be a bad idea .
EDIT : checked my comp catalog - no note etc . but the #26915 or #26918 looks familiar . gen III LS-1 , LS-6 beehive . maybe that was his choice ? older catalog also so maybe part number change ?
EDIT EDIT : duh , the number did sound familiar but you were not asking about beehive springs . Another post must have sidetracked me . Or it coulda been beerthirty . And that would explain the difference in part #s of course . But the bee's are interesting .

I've used those springs several times on 72 sbb350s with good results. With a comp 268 cam.

I was gonna say. Like I said above I saw this guy at 7:08 in this video put them on his GN, and the v6 heads are just a shorter 350 head, right? If they're good enough for a GN under boost they should be good enough for a 280-300hp 350 that will hardly ever see maybe 5300 rpm.
