Tired of tripping over this stuff.

    >>Hi Jason,
Could you please check if those numbers are a match for my '71 Skylark? I just tried to look on my pulleys but cannot see the numbers. I would be interested in them if they are a match.

    Jason,
my brother the Pontiac man may want that rear. I will ask him this week. Just had his appendix out yesterday. If thats a 71' rear wouldn't it be a 8.5? (I'm no expert) Will let you know. Would be easy to come pick up.

Good guess Frank. :beers2: I guess you got some work to do. They're already there waiting for you. :TU:

DL- For the right price, everything I have is for sale. You want it bad enough, it'll be in your driveway.

Mike- Its definitely an 8.2 because I put a new rear cover gasket on it. I used the spare I had from my 70 GS. I thought it was strange its a 71 8.2 also. Pontiac must of did it differently:Do No: .

Chris- For some reason, those numbers arent coming up in my parts book. The closest number I came up with is 1232532 and that was for a 70 350. So Im going to assume they are for a 70. That third piece with the pulleys Buick called a "fan driving pulley reinforcement". And they list it for up to and including 1970. Further "reinforecing" my theory that they're for a 70 :pp

Thanks for letting me know Jason - I guess that I'll then get my car's pulleys beadblasted and painted when I do the eventual water pump replacement.

interested in the 8.2 PM Sent. By the way Randy's Ring and Pinion told me that surplus 8.2's where use all the way until 72. I have been told on this board that randy's don't know what they are talking about but this is the third BOP that I came across that had an 8.2 that should have been an 8.5. My 72 GS has an 8.2 in it as well.

I figured out your PM! I didnt know what rear axle you were referring to until you responded here. In the Buick world, its 8.2 up till 70. In 71, it was 8.5. The other divisions did things a little different.

Im sorry but the rear has been sold.
