I'm looking for a pair of Clean front "Drum Brake Spindles". I need a pair from a '67-'72 Chevelle, '67-'69 Camaro, or '68-'74 Nova. BOP spindles aren't the same as those listed and won't work for my application. I would like to find a pair that have no damage, .... as in pickle fork gouges, elongated ball stud holes, damaged steering arm holes, galled bearing and or grease seal surfaces, thread damage, bent, pitted machine surfaces, etc. I'm looking for standard height spindles only. Most OEM Disc Brake conversion kits come with their own spindles, .... so this would be a good time to recover a few dollars back by selling the old ones. Larry
Larry. I have the stock drum parts off 1972 GS-350 I am converting to discs I would be happy to help assist with if acceptable. You have my number ; ) Regards, John
And, if you would like N.O.S. ++ Asbestos ++ Brake Shoes -- to keep from RippingUp those Brake Drums, I have them..... NOT expensive, and welllllllllllll worth it...............
Actually I'm not going to be installing drum brakes. I would like the drum spindles to use with my New Wilwood 6-Piston Front Disc Brake Kit. I could use the disc brake spindles that I have, but I never like using the supplied spacer at the upper 5/8"-18 bolt location when we install the Wilwood Kits. The drum brake spindles have a longer boss up top so no spacer is necessary. Thanks, Larry
I had a line on a local set that fell through (they were rough), so I'm still looking. If you have a clean set to sell please "PM" me with your response. Larry
I found out the spindles have to be from a '68-'72 Chevelle, '67-'69 Camaro, or a '68-'74 Nova. Those are the only spindles with the large 5/8-18 threaded top anchor hole that will work for my application. Larry
I now have my chassis with the complete front drum brakes, unmolested. It is a 71-72 chassis,if it matters. What do you need pictures of?
I've got a set of drum brake spindles from a 74 Apollo. I can take pictures and measurements if you provide the details
Brian & Joe, Thanks for your replies. I am attaching a couple photos of the exact spindles I am looking for. The upper boss has a recessed threaded portion that accepts a 5/8-20 bolt, ..... and that boss itself is 1/2" longer than a disc brake spindle. Larry
