I hope somebody can shed some light on this for me. I couldnt find any info about the history of this so the next move is to ask here.
Is anybody even fimiliar with this?
Was this something people did to customize their Nailheads or was there a motor that came with these like some kind of option or what?
And what would be a fair price for a decent pair?

Most of the chromed covers out there were done by a plating shop at some point, but these were also included in a 'dress up' kit available thru the parts dept in the mid 60's-towards the nail's end

What's the story on the Ford under the valve covers? Nailhead powered?

In the buick accessories book for 1966 on page 10 it shows a Chromed Engine parts kit. The Parts kit consists of heavy duty chromed-plated rocker arm covers, chromed-plated air cleaner, chromed-plated oil filler cap and chromed attaching parts. These items show up on e-bay and awap meets once in while.

I got a line on some but didnt know much about them. Not sure of what engine they fit and no sparkplug wire covers.

Borrowered the picture from a thread on the H.A.M.B. and yes its Nailhead powered.

    Thank you for the info.

Now how do I determine if these will fit my 66 401 or not?

Our 55 Roadmaster has them and has had since before Dad bought it in 1970. Other than 1955 sales literature there, we have no documentation that they are authentic. As he has since he began showing the car in 1975, Dad insists that these are an authentic accessory for his Roadmaster.

Those you have pictured are for a 56 322 or late 55 322 or 264. (53, 54 and early 55 had oil filler in the valley pan) despite a bolt hole diameter difference , I believe the Nailhaed valve covers are
    interchangeable.
