Hooked up this air shift solenoid I bought from Wayne Roberts at BG this year. Seems to work as its supposed to except that it will double shift when the regs set at 60- 65 psi. Lower the pressure and it will make the 1-2 fine but not the 2-3. Raise it enough to make the 23 and it will shift 1-3. Ideas

I removed one of the springs that push the lever into the next gate. It helped and works if I keep the pressure under 65psi. Hopfully problem solved

It's definitely not holding in the second gate for some reason.......what does the manufacture say?

I'm not familiar with that shifter personally, but I would think sonethING should hold it in 2nd gate till the solenoid pressure releases then that would open to allow the 2-3 shift........will it slide from 1 to 3 without the solenoid making the shift of does it stop and hold in 2nd

Without the bottle turned on it shift just fine. I even tried a few different gates just to see what it would do. Tried to contact the Mfg of the shifter and also the Mfg of the solenoid on Friday. Both were closed for the holiday.

That's a name brand for sure and they should be able to work through it. I use an electric shift system from altronics. I sure is nice to not need to shift by hand.

    What is triggering the solenoid.

It makes sense it's needs more air pressure to travel farther.......I thought honeatly that to make 2 shifts you needed 2 solenoids.

But I never looked at reverse shift b4, mine is still forward with brake cause mine was column shift b4 electric.

The tach shift light is wired through the little black box seen in the video. It can be set up to make 4 different shift at different RPM as well as a .020 to .99 sec delay in between each shift. When I push both set buttons for 3 secs it will trigger the solenoid to shift. Other than that its full automatic.

Wonder if the manual triggering is causing it to have full action all the way through. Wonder if the rpm actibaton would only run through the gears.

Can you lift the rear tires set it to shift at 2500 with max delay between and creep up on the rpms to see if it shifts differently when being rpm triggered rather than manually triggered

I did this while at the track on Friday. During the warm up we were permitted to make laps on the track between the return roads and thats where I first noticed the issue. So it would make the same malfunction no matter how the shift was triggered. It would have to be tested in a like real life driving situation as the controller has to see a 500 rpm drop before resetting for the next shift. Heres a vid of actual on track run where you can see the tach drop from 5800 to 4500(converter flash) after the 1-2 shift and 2-3 shift
