Wow. they is purdy proud of that dyno machine. I recently paid 250 for the session and and another 100 or so in parts. They found me another 70 hp.
Do like many and get some baseline acceleration numbers, even with a G tech or other accelerometer. Make sure you don't spend for a day of wasted time and a puffed up number. Not sure if you have EFI or a carb, or if its vacuum secondary operated... but a vac sec carb having it's rate altered will leave a whole bunch on the table being tuned in high gear on a slowly accelerating roller wheel. It would need to be checked accelerating at the same rate as it would real time in first gear also.
Wheres that,I want to send my customers there lol. Its for a8hr session.Heck it takes over an hour to set the motor up on the dyno, then another couple for cool down and removal.
I was referring to the inability of a roller wheel to simulate what happens in first gear. It's tough to hold them down outside top gear and creates issues with corrections/calibrations. Also, there was a thread in which the validity of the chassis dyno numbers were questioned. 8 hours would provide a lot of opportunity for heat and weather to change and might be a factor on how/if any SAE corrections are factored. As long as the client is happy with the performance...
I bought a plate that covers the bottom of the Dominator, some jets and dist stuff. The rest was adjustments. Over all I think they did about 10 pulls. The second to last it lost a little and they set it back to what it was prior and did another to verify. I believe this is correct. The engine dyno after the build was 500.00. Just to hook it up, run it and get some base numbers. The 250 was a chassis dyno.
