The voltage reg on my 67 GS started chattering and the red light came on. It chattered for about 1 minute and stopped. Finally, it consistantly chattered so I put a new one on it. The new one chattered for about a minute and then stopped but now, the red light stays on. I checked the Alt and it checks out good. I would like to keep the original external reg. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
