I finally got this thing running today haven't driven it yet just wanted to make sure there were no leaks.

When I started it I gave it two full pumps of gas with both primary and secondaries waited 30 seconds and it fired right up and just sat there and idled like it was all warmed up. Car starts faster than a fuel injected car.

I raped on it some after I warmed it up and it seems the secondaries will need a bigger pump shot. But I have to take it out and see how it responds first The gas tank is full but that gas is a year old now and probably not that good.

Just like gsjohnny said this is a 3500 and up intake and should rock and roll and be treated as such. This thing is not for some stock engine. I know I need a better cam in there this Lunati seems to give up at 5800, I could tell that difference after I took out the TA 510 cam.

You don't seem to be running a Holley TV correction bracket?

It is connected to the bottom of the carb The bracket is there at the back I don't like it. Seems to be too flimsy the part for the trans is at the bottom. under the bracket at back part of carb hard to see.

The sending unit for the water temp started to leak and had to plug the hole in intake. The threads were just corroded and would not hold. I hope I can get a new mechanical sending unit that goes into the car. I just need to replace the threaded part but I think I will have to get the whole line there. I bet I will have to get a new gauge to fix it.

If that gas is E10, it isn't good anymore. It will foul the plugs, make them black.

I am sure it has its 10% in it I do have race gas in also. I did put in some stabilizer before winter and I add some JB product for the ethanol that is in the gas. Just have to get it ran out and put in some fresh. Could suck it out and put it in the old wheel horse, that thing will run on anything. I will check the plugs I am just glad it started up and did not act up.

Maybe you will have better luck than I did. I have had E10 go bad on me twice. If your engine starts running funny, check the plugs, mine were literally pitch black, all over. I think the only reason it kept running was the MSD.

Looks Good! yes it certainly likes RPM's and on the street could be a problem with speeding tickets...Don't ask lol

I am with ya Larry I had old gas in a couple years ago and when it got down between 1/2 and 1/4 it started to miss real bad and would not take anything much over idle. Had to keep driving and putting in fresh gas till it ran good. I also think the MSD has a lot to do with that it will shoot lightning bolts zzz.

You got to know when to stand on it and when not to if you don't want to get a ticket. A 1/4 mile is not that far.

Sorry guys I had to go to the doc then I had to mow all the grass and I get to do that again tomorrow. I was also put on 1st shift working about 10 hrs and the drive to and from is an hour. Just wore out, Saturday now is a different story, I have a good road I can really lay it down. Then it depends on how good the gas is.

I bet you wont notice any loss of low speed drivability, I sure didnt:D

Made my first run today. Pump the gas 2 times turned the key and starts within 2 seconds and sits there idling like it has been running for an hour. no hesitation at all off the primaries.

Let it run for about 15 minutes, made sure nothing was going to leak let it get good and warmed up and drove out to my little 1/2 mile road to make a run. I was surprised my wife wanted to go with me, she had to know what I was going to do lol.

First I ran thru 1st gear to 30 mph shifted into 2nd then pushed it to the floor and it just roared its butt up past 6 grand and I think it would have kept going and was still pulling. I still have the rev limiter at 6200 so I just shifted to 3rd there. It would not do that before with this cam. Oil gauge was at 72 lbs.

Then I went around the block and made another run and this time I did it out of 1st gear and it went to 6200 like nothing hit 2nd and ran that to 6200 like nothing again. It was still pulling each time. So next I will set the rev limiter higher and try 6500, I think this will be about it since we are at 22 years old now on the motor but I can tell you it rocks and sounds different.

I just need a little more pump shot on the secondaries, had a little hesitation when slammed down from 2500 rpm.

    It rolls.

Just like gsjohnny said it would.

Maybe try 50cc pump on secondaries. or different secondary cams.
Might need to look at secondary power valve. I know You'll get it. :p

Fishing season is almost over, SP3 install coming shortly!:)

This intake is going to like a big cam that can spin the engine from 3500-7 grand I would build it accordingly. Run a 410 gear and a 3500 stall convertor with a 4 speed automatic like I have and you won't be touched on the street.

This ain't your daddys' stock intake so don't build the engine that way.

I have a 50cc pump on the secondaries but I noticed a bunch of travel left with the pump arm. I have the screw all the way to the top now and still have a lot more travel left on the pump diaphragm arm. So I am not getting a big shot like I should. It was ok for the stock intake but this one needs more.

I put the jets in the carb at 72-80 so that part seems to be ok.

You are right there, it was spot on with the low speed drivability, no change there. I didn't even have to change the 4 corner idle jets.

I had 13" of vacuum in park. Reading 18 going 65 down the highway.

I have never had to mess with pump arm adjustment, it's supposed to be like .020 lash or something, if you want more pump shot go to a larger squirter, the pump cam controls how aggressive and the duration of the shot

I got out that big brown cam that I have in my kit and that one makes the arm go all the way. I put a larger shooter in the back so we will see how that goes.
