Hey guys, for those who aren't aware, we released a lifter tray baffle kit for the big and small block engines a while back. We have sold quite a few and have had good results. All that is required is that you use the baffle as a guide to mark the lifter valley and then drill and tap 2 holes to secure the baffle. It includes the mounting hardware.

    The 350 baffle kit is a TA 1738-350 ... $40.

When they break up the stone(s) into smaller pieces with that sonic blaster, they're likely to be jagged and sharp on edges and so will be a real bitch to pass. This could last a while, so buckle up and tough it out. Make sure you drink plenty of water to help flush it out, since urine trickling down the ureter (the tubes that lead from the kidneys to the bladder, and are smaller than the urethra (tube leading from bladder on out)) will move them slower than a surge of if you're drinking lots of water.
Water is best, not other liquids.
Hang in there, Guy. This is no small issue, and will hurt like you're giving birth to triplets.
My wife is going through the exact same thing right now, and I've been there myself years ago.
If you ever want to chat, I'm here.
    Bro hug.

Gary LOL Thanks I am with ya on that it is a b****

I was aware of this piece just was not ready to start drilling with the engine in the car and was looking at the alternate route for now if it was available. I really like this piece as this WILL keep the oil from even getting close to the intake at all. Glad you guys made this. keep those parts coming.

I am still wondering if there are any 350's in the junkyards since 1980 that was a long time ago now.

Why don't you guys at TA just build a new Aluminum 350 block and put the Chevy's in the ground. now that would be cool. Just add 2 more cylinders to the current 6 cylinder block made for the Turbo cars. piece of cake.

Since I don't or can't do much but sit here and drink water all the time I will shoot out some history and pics on my car and maybe some of you boneheads will have some incentive to build a 350 LOL. :p

Isn't cranberry juice suppose to be good for kidneys?

If above is true the cranberry juice and the Vodka of choice should flush those stones out in no time! Plus the more you drink of that the less the pain will be when you pee? Or at least the less pain you remember anyway.

Sorry you have to go through this, get well soon.

LOL there Derek cranberry juice is good for you but did you know that alcohol of any kind will drain the body of any fluid that is left in it and will actually dehydrate you and could make the kidney stone situation worse. That is why you pee your brains out after drinking that beer you have in your hand huh?

You pee out all fluids and it will take it from your body if it has to. Actually water is my best bet right now to keep me cleaned out. I already had the kidney stone blasted out with a laser it is the stent that is in my tube from kidney to bladder that is making me bleed from too much movement.

That is why you get a hangover from drinking too much beer. It isn't the beer that caused the problem it is the fact that the body drained all the fluids from your body. Alcohol is a diuretic, by by fluids.

besides I can't drink alcohol I am taking antibiotics.

Well if in you weren't on antibiotics you could of alternated glass of water, Sea breeze, glass of water, Sea breeze.....etc.....etc.. rinse and repeat until desired results are achieved.(brow guy here would be perfect, sure do miss those old emojis!)

I try get some water in the mix if in I am indulging in some adult type beverages, no hangovers here.(just a little more extra peeing when you do it that way is all)

Cranberry juice is good to keep kidney function healthy, but too much of that can actually cause kidney stones! Or so i heard. I'm not a doctor. :p
Plain water is a detoxifier and will flush out what the body doesn't need, since there's nothing mixed in with it that your body has to process.
Since we're on the subject of alcohol, keeping yourself hydrated is the surest way to prevent hangovers, which means lots of water.
One of my old methods back when I was indulging was to drink twice as much water as I did whiskey. (one gulp of whiskey, two gulps of water) lol
And no sugary/sweet drinks when drinking. bleh

Got a present today, The part looks good and so does the fit. No more problems with the valley pan interfering with the intake and the composite gaskets.

    IMG_1135.jpg IMG_1136.jpg IMG_1138.jpg IMG_1139.jpg IMG_1140.jpg

If I had the motor completely apart and was getting it done for the first time I would then get the TA part and drill and tap the part in. That part is very nice too and is permanent.

But if I was just changing the intake to the SP3 or the TA DP intake as I am I would get this part, 35 bucks from Mike at AM&P. I sent him some pics in case he needs to make any adjustments but it so far looks like it will work just fine.

I did a test fit with the intake and used two different thickness gaskets to see if the intake would sit tight on the heads. I used a feeler gauge on the sides between the ports to be sure it was going to be tight with no leaks. I did this with the .032 gasket and with the .015 gasket and it looks like both will work. As soon as I snugged the four center bolts the .0015 feeler gauge would not come out.

So I think I will use the .015 gasket to keep the squeeze out to a minimum. Took a pic of the area with feeler gauge.

I also took another pic of the valley pan and a pic of Mike's web site so you can order one for yourself. I was the Guinea pig on this one.

I got the intake installed finally this became a long project but I am now happy with how it all turned out. Now we have to see if it does what it is supposed to do, which I expect will be very good. My wife did some painting for me and added some art to it. I also gave it some X Factor to boost the power. lol
