Changing a 67 to rack an pinion steering

    Has anyone done this?

    I am trying to get more header room, and was wondering if anyone had replaced
    the stock steering box and put ina rack.

    jess i tried to put a rack in my car with t/a headers i found no way i could mount the rack, my car is so low i would run into bump steer trouble. if i try it again ill have to make up some headers and notch the frame. hope this helps. later john

    Well mine sits almost stock height, and iits more of a cruiser than a track monster, but thanks, I will let you know if I find a way.

    I can be done.I have one on my 66.I depends on where your motor sit and the ride height.I had to install mt rack pretty far foward to clear the blower pulley etc.I had to make new steering arms to help bump steer.

    Well I am gonna be getting a mustang rack this year and start configuring it in, cause I really need to move the steering shaft, would give a couple more inches of driver side header room. May even look for tubular upper A arms so I can get even more room and use long tube headers instead of shorties.
    Does someone make upper A arm for my car, just to replace the stock ones?
    What is bump steer?
