On August 24th from 8 to 12 The AACA National HQ and AACA Library have graciously offered to host a cars and coffee event at the home of the new HQ on Hershey Park drive. All proceeds will benefit a fund established to help offset the medical cost for the family of Ryan Packer. He is our 13 year old grandson and was recently diagnosed with Leukemia. We are sure he will be cured but is looking a 3 years of Chemo and Radiation, not too mention many hospital stays. I know this might be a drive for many of you but since the new HQ is right beside Hershey Park come and spend the day. All cars are welcome it doesn't have to be and antique. Daily drivers are just fine. I know many of you have supported us in the past with Paul's Buick Bash and we are hopefully we can get a good turn out A pay pal account has now been established for donations https://paypal.me/pools/c/8gbY1qIwo7 Attached a flyer for the event Thanks Paul & Lynn Gawel
Paul, For those of us too far away to make this event, is there a way we can contribute to the fund through PayPal? Best of luck with Ryan’s fight, and with the car show.
To the top... Come on Buick Brothers, help this family out. No 13 year should have to go through this, so the least we can do is make it a little easier. Paul and Lynn have done so much for our Buick’s in the AACA.
We have been overwhelmed with the support for Ryan, I feel the need to tell you guys how great this kid is! First he is not a car guy, we tried to sway him to Buicks but have failed. He is a sports guy. A diehard Seattle Seahawks fan even though none of his friends or family root for Seattle. He loves Notre Dame! Which I found funny because is was at a Penn State Children's hospital. We truly believe that some day he will be a sportscaster. His head is full of statistics on all things football, basket ball, baseball and hockey. He has played Lacrosse for the last 6 years and is very good. Two days before he was diagnosed he was at a tournament playing in 90 temps. He is an Honor Roll student that loves school, especially Math. He loves his big brother dearly. He will have to have Chemo for the next 3 years, weekly chemo, weekly spinal taps with chemo drugs injected into his spine and in a few months will begin radiation treatments. This kid is no quitter and is stronger that most adults around him. He is facing this without fear, with the strongest determination I have ever seen and a sense of humor. He is AWSOME!! and we could not be prouder! Thank You all for so much your support For those that can make it to the event we are sure you will get to meet the awesome kid and his family Lynn Gawel
