Hey guys, so, explain this like im ignorant - which i am -, but not stupid, please hahah.

Link to vid attached. You'll see the obvious problem. So whats the solution? Certainly seems something is stuck, and therefore hopefully an easy solution. Thanks in advance.

Floats stuck open. Is it a fresh rebuild?

It is, yeah. The carb that is. Not the engine itself or anything

Pull carb and rebuild , set floats , reinstall. Change your oil if you suspect that you dumped too much fuel past the rings. Pull stick and smell it.
Been there done that, cost me 4 + quarts of JG Driven oil. Jim

sounds like maybe some crap in the needle and seats and/or floats aren't set right or hanging up.

Ill see what i can find. It ran fine for 5 years and then this just started happening. Did a holley rebuild, and... Its continued. Brass floats in there too which ive heard is ideal

Those Holley's have a small rubber o-ring on the needle seat assembly that screws into the top of the carb. IF that rubber o-ring is missing or just worn out & wasn't replaced could be one of the problems, BUT a rebuild kit usually happens to have a screw-in needle seat assembly that includes those UNLESS it's a cheap kit. Next is floats, BUT if they were brass they should be OK. One way to test them is to put them in hot water, NOT boiling, & IF you see bubbles rise they are N/G

I have not noticed it but cliff told me that the ethanol gas reacts badly with the brass solder .
you can take a 5/8" wrench , hold adjuster nut in position and remove lock screw on top of needle n seat . shoot some carb clean down into opening ( carefully ) . should flush out needle crap if any . hold the nut again and lock screw down . quick , easy . watch those little gaskets .
also , if the float arm is out of whack a little ( angle in relation to float ) it can cause the seat assembly to drop down into the threads too far , past the threads , when adjusting float . it won't come back up and needle will stay in the open position . a small careful adjustment is easy after some mental gymnastics . for me I like to see it down in about a few threads with the float in correct position .
and be sure and check fuel pressure . 5.5 - 6.5 lbs is plenty . although that would probably cause both front and rear to blow on ya .

Ive done something similar with a Quadrajet and didnt change the oil. Made a nice long smoke screen on the freeway with the foot to the floor. One time and it cleared up.

The Holley needle 'n' seat O-ring is not available separately. There is a "kit" that includes the two gaskets and the lock-screw.

The O-ring cold-flows over time. When it doesn't seal, there's an uncontrolled leak of fuel past the needle and seat assembly, and then out the vent.

Thousands of years ago, I had the cold-flow problem on my Holley tri-power. I think the Holley O-ring is cheap neoprene. The generic parts-store O-rings, from the assortment they hide behind the counter lasted about two days. I had to buy a pack of a hundred O-rings to get proper, Viton seals. Viton doesn't cold-flow, and it's resistance to to automotive chemicals is very good.

I got 'em from Small Parts, Inc, but they got bought-out by Amazon not long after. No idea where to get them now.
