Got the quick fuel carboretor on and the wiring straight, now the car runs great while the gas is to it but when i stop for at least 30 to 45 seconds the car shuts down but starts right back. What could this be carboretor or electronic. All post will be considered.. thanks tmarchtheman.:Do No:

What's the idle speed and timing at? how many inches of vacuum are you pulling at idle

The repair shop said they have checked the timing but not the idle speed but I remembered that when i had the engine rebuilted that he had welded the vaccum on the exhaust taking it away for the carboretor and it started making a ticking sound when cranking and afterward it would start it would stop, could this vaccum line coming from the exhaust be the problem. This engine is a 66 buick 425 bored 30 with a quick fuel carb.

He un hooked the exhaust flap thingy. you need to get a hold of doc or devon. They are very sharp with older things. I'm a 455 man. that tick is exhaust. if i were you i would buy a dial back timing light and vacuum guage. where are you located? I would set timing to 32 total and idle to 700 in gear. and check vacuum
