With a B4B on a 100% strip car making power well under 6000 rpm, what do you all recommend for a carb spacer: -Open or 4 hole? -1" or 2"? Thanks!
I was just going to post a question about this. I have an Edelbrock Performer intake with a Holley 950 HP carb. I saw a spacer from TDPerformance called "swireltech" or "swireltorque". It comes in 1" and 2" and has slots in the holes to increase the fuel mixture process. I did a mockup and only the 1" will fit with the factory air cleaner assembly. Is anyone using a carb spacer and if so, what kind of gains did you experience?
Yes, use open and 4-hole, both 1" and 2". In other words: beg, borrow and steal anything you can get your hands on and test. You'll need to optimize carb and timing for each one. Thanks a lot Shayne. I will be doing some carb testing before Morocco, so I probably won't be able to mess with the spacers until the Midwest Challenge. If you take in account all of your time and dollars spent testing you will be much further ahead both monetarily and performance wise to switch over to the SP1 or KB Wildcat. Both respond well to open spacers witch net around 10 additional horse power on the average.
ou: WOW! I hadn't thought of it that way, but you're absolutely right. It's no big task to burn through $300 on a two trips to the track when you add it all up.
