Has anyone noticed a decrease in carb temp, or a less likely tendency to vapor lock with a phenolic spacer? After a real hard run, with water temps around 200*, sometimes I get a slight stumble that I've attributed to a vapor lock like condition. I've already got a 1/2in steel carb adapter, but was thinking of adding a 1/2in open spacer to help solve my issue. Any comments?

The heat riser was removed a few years ago, so it's not that. The heat was left in the manifold, only the holes in the carb base were sealed.

Its a old thread but after a year off from my car I am itching to see smoke in the rear view mirror this summer.......and not from my tail pipes for all you wise guys out there:laugh::laugh: anyway just thought I would add this. When I was testing a intake on a head at .600 lift, I could hear some turbulence so I put a 1/2 inch open spacer on and it calmed down some and gained 2 cfm through the valve. So I then put on the only 1'' spacer I had and it was a 4 hole and it calmed down even more and it gaind 5 cfm through the valve. This was on my doc job ported intake. Also this was the upper plenum. Just my 1 cent for what its worth
