Hi guys. I'm looking for ideas on Carb, Intake and header combos that work well on a stock 350. It's for a 72 LeSabre and I would like to do a few performance upgrades.
Hey Larry. Yes that's the set up now. I'm going duel exhaust, 4bbl and new intake. I also thought I would do headers to let it breath a little better.
I'd look for a stock 350 4bbl intake, get a Q-jet built by Ken Gies (techg8) and run dual 2 1/2" exhaust with regular exhaust manifolds. It's low compression 350. You can add headers if you rebuild the engine with higher compression and cam. JMO.
Ken at everyday Performance does a nice carb . He can do a distributor recurve with points conversion also. You should pick up a few hp between them. Probably will need a 4 barrel accelerator cable. Personally I would also suggest ta performance big valves, and some blending , a crower level 3 cam advanced 4 degrees, and a higher torque converter (small block rated 2200-2400) instead of headers. should pick up quite well . It should give decent lower torque to get the heavier car moving. Milling heads an extra amount can bring compression up some that can also improve performance. But piston change is still the better way to get compression up.
Thanks Alec, that's alot of good info. I really appreciate it. Where is everyday performance located?
