Can someone tell me how a 455 would act with a leaking quadrajet base gasket. Put other carb on. Ran great then started acting like the first carb. Thanks Frank
Jason it was creating a jerking at steady speed. I think I have it fixed. Replaced the gasket with a new thicker one. I'm still playing with a dieseling issue. Frank
You'll get more answers by simply putting a vacuum gauge on the engine, idling in Park, fully warm. If the engine is stock, it should make at least 18" of vacuum, probably closer to 20". If you have a vacuum leak, it will lean out the mixture all the time, and that can cause dieseling as well.
