Hey, looking to get a car cover for my 70 GS. Looking for something that isn't cheap but not so expensive to break the bank....Car is due to come back from the body shop in a month and just wanted something to keep the dust off of it while in the garage. Thanks!

I have tried many and have mixed feelings. Car covers should be clean and go on clean cars. I've seen damaged paint from "heavy" covers rubbing the paint, especially outdoors in the wind. I've decided that for indoors, just to keep the dust off, something like this is best:
Car Condom Disposable Plastic Car Cover with Elastic Band Medium Size 21' x 12.5'

Be careful putting something on right after paint.

Inside or outside and expected weather (seasons) make a huge difference in the kind of cover, too. I just have cheapie $25 Wally World covers for my cars that are inside, because what do they need to be fancy for? All they're doing is keeping dust off them, and I rarely use them besides. Outside storage get the best you can afford.

Inside garage. Something to keep the dust off and any accidental passer by.

I purchased several of the Condom covers several years ago. Paid $5.00 US each shipped to Detroit. The problem with these covers is that they tear too easily. S/b a heavier mil thickness.

Gerry - yeah, they are thin, but something like that. Did you find a brand that is better?

Noah. Griot's. Pricey, but you'll never need another.

I think this winter, I'm not going to cover my cars. I blow my covers off before removing but unless you have two people to fold the cover up as you remove it, you have to roll it up and the dirt ends up on the inside of the cover. I have several types of indoor covers, some higher quality than others, but I can see very fine scratches in the paint and I believe it's from the cover. I'll let the dust stay on my cars through the winter and wash them in the spring. I'm very careful about not touching or brushing my car when walking by.

I used California car covers for years still have a Cali on my 67, the last several I have bought have been from Covercraft and I prefer them to the California.

I use those elastic car condoms over a www.calcarcover.com dust top or better cover...if you don’t cover the cover,it will get dirty and dusty over time and then it’s useless.

I also use just the condom when transporting the car in the trailer to keep the dust off.

If you uncover and cover the car with the same front to back system, you’ll never have a problem figuring out how it goes on.
