I would like to get a nice used enclosed trailer to keep in my driveway so I can have an extra clean place to keep my 65 Lark. While I work on the GS. Any leads will be appreciated.:bglasses:
Just for your info, a 20' will work just fine. Thats what I have and keep one of my Regals in plus my pit bike, generator, tool box, battery charger, and chairs. I don't know who much room/money you have to spend but a 20' will work. Good luck in your search no matter what size you buy.
I would suggest searching on Craigslist. Alot of people need to get something sold quick, and you can get what your looking for cheaper than what you usually could.
I see your in New Jersey. Drop me a PM and let me know how to contact you. There was a 2006 for sale in South Jersey recently and I will inquire if it is still available. It was being sold at a deep discount. Bruce
NEVER never never buy a 20 footer....get a 22 or 24...almost every gear head Ive ever talked to says the 20's where cheap, but no room, especially for a A-body, a 65 is over 18 ft long i believe? Every one i know with a 20 footer wishes they would have bought a 24, and Im looking for a trailer too, ive talked to at least 50 friends....some have had 3 or 4 trailers and they all, and i mean every single one says 24 minimum..... if you look around you see alot of 20's for sale, ive called 30+ ads, and the reason they are selling...either they lost their job(a few) or the number one answer...its too small...but if your using it for storage i guess thats different, but toget its moneys worth, if you need to use it, it needs to be usable. Craigslist seems to have a ton of them, ive been looking for a steal for 4 or 5 months...
Agree, I started years ago with a 22', went to several 24's and now it's 28'. I'd never go back to anything shorter. Bigger would be nice but the price really starts going up past 28' and the fact that they get tougher to pull and navigate too. Also 6 tires, bearings, etc to care for, vs 4 of each. If storage is the MAIN reason for the purchase, a 20' would work fine, but if you plan on using it as a trailer, go larger! :TU: Steve
I was leaning towards a 24'-28' for myself. I want to be able to haul my 72 race car and a golf cart. I have been looking for a steal also....if you find two let me know....lol.
24' with golf cart won't fly. You need a 28' to fit a 70-72 "A" body and a golf cart, unless you jam it in there sideways.
Good post Mark. I will take that into consideration.:TU: Thanks Steve. Originally I thought i'd just use it to store but I do want to be able to go far to get to some other tracks. So I do believe I will be also using it. So I guess i'm now in the market for a 24' footer. :bglasses: :bglasses:
Joe,your neighbors are going to love you by the time you get done putting things in your driveway.I'am sure the zoneing board is watching.
You might want to look into the rules where you are. I left our 28' in front of my mother's house and the local yokel put a sticker on it even though it had only been there over night. She told me that the report she received said it had been there a week even though the three neighbors she talked to also told her only over night. Go 28' if you can I love ours. When you fill it up it can get heavy though.
