    As some of you know, I am now the proud owner of a 71 LeSabre 4 door hardtop. I pulled the cowl tag today to pay my respects to the birth of this ride. I tried the online cowl tag decoder but it doesnt have my car in there. 71 LeSabre.

    ST71-45439 1971 Buick LeSabre Custom 4 door hardtop
    TR436 Saddle Vinyl with Bench Seat

    Y 00069 BDY assembly plant Y is ? the number following itis I guess this is the body number assigned by Fischer.
    11F PNT Antique White, Dark Brown Vinyl Top
    C8FC60B8 ?
    08e 0172 ?

    Can someone decode the rest of this? Do you know any online decoders or cowl tag decryption charts that has the LeSabres in it?

    Thanks
    Gary

    Trim 436 was available on styles 45439, 45457, 45467, 45469

    Y = Wilmington, DE

    Paint code 11 = Arctic White

    Option codes:
    C8F = unknown, are you sure this is what it says?
    C60 = Air Conditioning Manual Control
    B8 = unknown, missing a number or sales code maybe?

    08E = built August (08) 1970, fifth week (E)
    0172 = sequence or line number

    Post a picture if you have one.

    C08 is the RPO/UPC code for vinyl roof. I think C8F is short hand for C08 in color F. Attached is another 1971 Wilmington tag with a similar code pattern and a vinyl roof. B8 is the sales code for short non-shift console, but I'm not sure if that was available on the LeSabre.
