Hey everyone, I have a 1972 Skylark 350 that came stock with A/C. The A/C compressor, condenser, etc were all long gone by the time I got the car. Right now I have the giant steel alternator bracket that includes mounts to hold the A/C compressor as well. Since I no longer have A/C, I'd like to use the cast aluminum non-A/C alternator bracket to clean up the engine compartment. Can I just swap the alternator brackets, or will I need non-A/C waterpump and crank pulleys as well? Here's the alternator bracket I want to buy: https://www.ebay.com/itm/271533941392 Here's the A/C type alternator bracket like I have right now: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Lower-AC-A...294224&hash=item2f2d8602f0:g:yzIAAOSwdwlcjZvO Thanks in advance, Ryan
I swapped out mine (455) for a TA Performance bracket without any problems. Can't say if the 350 is the same but someone will chip in. Bob
That big honky steel bracket is made to support the compressor and alt. The alum alt bracket is all you need if you are not putting the a/c back on. You might get lucky and find one in the parts wanted section.
It's a nice swap out to clean up that - "Somethings missing" look Now you see it.............................................................................now you don't!
I don't have use for it, I'll try to get better pics later right now I'm busy with helping to get stuff ready to plant
Thanks for the offer Josh, but I ended up cutting down the steel bracket I already had, and I'm satisfied with the results.
