    Hey,

Im driving an 68 Riviera with the 430 cui, street driven car. Is there an difference to choose between comp cam (better shipping rates) and TA?

Actually I port my Iron heads and intake. To reach near 450 hp would be great. Which cam should I use?

    212, 288?

Call TA and have then recommend a cam, then buy from them.
TA will support you with whatever questions or issues you may have:D

Yeah. The few extra dollars one *might* spend on a TA part is money well invested in folks who have made their life work, supporting us, when the "big names" could care less about Buicks, or those who own them.

Normally for sure but it's about 60 bucks difference because of shipping.

Well Comp grinds have been known to either not perform as well, or just fail on break in. You see it with both cams, but I’ve heard less complaints with TA cams

If you can afford to build the engine twice, choose comp

Seems a small price to pay for the quality and expertise , you buy from t/a you can talk to someone who knows exactly what you have and help you accomplish your goals! The other guy... Who's next!

And if you have ported heads, something larger might be up your alley than a 212 or 288, just make sure you have the compression for it.

Comp Cam makes all sorts of cams for American Motors, Buick, Chevy, Ford, Mopar, Olds, Pontiac and many others.

TA makes Buick cams, Buick heads, Buick blocks and Buick headers.

Do you start to see that TA has more Buick in their product line than nearly every other manufacturer out there?

Let me ask it another way, who do you want to do a heart surgery? A general practitioner or a cardio-thorasic surgeon?

    All EXCELLENT points!
Even if I can buy a Buick specific part locally for cheaper, and TA has it for a few more bucks, I still buy from TA, just to show my appreciation for all they do for us Buick people:D
I also over tip the wait staff at restaurants:cool:

Pretty sure TA is using Crower for their cam grinds now. That's where mine came from, ordered through TA.
