I may be changing the cam in my 1970 GS 455 and don't want to pull the engine to do it. Is it necessary to drop the oil pan when removing the cam?

No, but the timing cover has to come off, and you may need to remove the radiator, A/C condenser, grill if it is in the way.

Thanks Larry. That is one less headache to contend with should I have to yank the cam. The grill has so many cracks in it from 50 years of people leaning on it that I probably won't have to remove it!

Not so much the grill but the center section the grill attaches to that runs from the bottom of the radiator support to the top. Not not a big deal. If you have one hanging the AC condenser out of the way is a little more exciting.

Thanks Mike. This 70 is a no AC, no power steering, no power brake set up; so a few less items to contend with.
