I have a '62 Special Convertible that needs some attention. For now I need to redo the top, carpet and recover the seats. The top and carpet seem to be easy finds but not the seats and door panels. Anyone know of a place that offers '62 pattern door panels and seats covers?
M@ is correct on the Tempest panels. If you have a good classic car upholstery shop close by they can get the original material and make you seat covers. You then have options such as doing them all original or doing a bit of customizing if you like. I had the seats for my 63 Skylark redone locally (buckets in front) and he redone them with the exact same material they originally used. I had him make the new covers just like the originals except I deleted the buttons and swapped the center panels with a nice blue/gray tweed. I love them and have had a lot of compliments on them. Just another option to think about or possibly look into. Keith
Thanks I called SMS the down side is that they said it would take 12-18 MONTHS to make the door panels.... Also I'm trying to track down what trim code 139 is, anyone know?
Trim code 139 is Fawn for 1962 Special Deluxe convertible. https://www.gransportstage1.com/buick-sales-literature/1962-buick-color-trim-book/
Check out you tuber cechaflo he will show you the stuff on how to make almost anybinterior. It’s not hard once you see the thing. 63 impala door handles match the 63 skylark.
