I am trying to replace my 14" wheels and need some guidance. I would really like to go with a pro touring look with 17" wheels but am running into alot of fitting issues. I tried 17x8 with a 4.5" back spacing in the rear and it wasnt enough for the fender lip. Can anyone share with me what they are running and possibly where they were able to locate them. Thanks for all the help.

Mine is a 67. I edited the title to reflect. I know there were many changes in the 60's just need someone who has been there and done that.

Are u willing to trim the fender lips?
I run a 17x10.5 on back of mine.
    Had to trim fender lips.
My car has a 1968 12 bolt so it may be a different offset than the 67 10 bolts so me sharing back spacing wont help u any

    At 1 time i did run a 18x8 with 4.5 bs.
Would not have fit had not the lips not already been trimmed. But my sits pretty low also.
So u at a minimum need 5 inch bs

Its been quite difficult to find a 5" backspacing 17 inch wheel. I had a 245/45/17 on a 17x8 with 4.5 backspacing and 0 offset and it needed about an inch to clear the outer fender lip. i couldn't even trim to make it work. I may end up going with the 225/45/17 all the way around as much as i hate it because of the difficulty of finding wheels.

A 245 tire on any wheel is about as large as I can go in the rear sadly.
